REALTORS® Care: 'Tis the SeasonI was going through some old photos recently and I was impressed with the number of charitable activities in which members of the Saint John Real Estate Board have been involved over the years. We posted just a few of the photos we found on facebook; you can see some of these photos (you don't need to have a facebook account) using this link.
When you think of a REALTOR®, you think about someone who buys and sells a house. What you may not think about is the fact that the REALTOR® not only works, but lives in the same community that you do. That means that making sure that neighbourhood is healthy, flourishing, and thriving means a lot to him or her, not only professionally, but personally. As a result, virtually all REALTORS® are involved in their communities as volunteers, fundraisers, coaches, and in many other ways. Because REALTORS® are often personable, outgoing people with amazing contact lists and professional negotiation skills, they are usually very powerful allies for charitable organizations trying to raise funds. The Canadian Real Estate Association tracks and highlights the contributions made by REALTORS® on www.realtorscare.ca. According to the site, nearly $14 and-a-half million dollars has been raised by REALTORS® across the country since January 2008. That's quite an achievement. The Saint John Real Estate Board's own collection of stories and data on the charitable involvement of our members is on the national realtorscare.ca website, too. You can find a number of great stories here. We are very proud of the many efforts of our members, and encourage their continued involvement! |
